General
What is Loggsit?
Loggsit is a personal media diary for movies, TV shows, albums, and games. You can log everything you watch, listen to, and play — with ratings, reviews, watch dates, and more.
Do I need an account?
You need an account to log, rate, or review anything. Browsing media pages and seeing community ratings is available without signing in.
What media types does Loggsit support?
Movies, TV shows (with per-episode reviews), albums (with per-track reviews), and games.
Movies & TV Shows
Powered by OMDbWhere does movie and TV show data come from?
Movie and TV show information — titles, posters, release years, cast, and IMDb IDs — is sourced from the Open Movie Database (OMDb API), which aggregates data from IMDb.
Why is a movie missing or showing incorrect information?
OMDb pulls from IMDb's dataset. If a title is missing, very new, or has limited metadata, it may not appear in search results. Incorrect details (wrong poster, wrong year) are inherited from IMDb and can't be edited on Loggsit directly.
What is OMDb?
The Open Movie Database is a free, community-built API that provides structured access to movie and TV data sourced from IMDb. Learn more at omdbapi.com.
Can I log individual TV episodes?
Yes. On any TV show page you can browse seasons and episodes, and leave a per-episode review. These appear in your diary entry for that show.
Games
Powered by IGDBWhere does game data come from?
Game information — titles, cover art, release dates, and platforms — comes from the Internet Game Database (IGDB), which is owned and maintained by Twitch.
Why is a game missing from search results?
IGDB covers the vast majority of released games, but very new releases or obscure titles may have incomplete data or not yet be indexed. If a game is missing, it may appear once IGDB's database is updated.
What is IGDB?
IGDB (Internet Game Database) is a comprehensive game database and API, similar to IMDb but for video games. It's owned by Twitch and used by many game-tracking apps. Learn more at igdb.com.
Music & Albums
Powered by SpotifyWhere does album and music data come from?
Album metadata — cover art, track listings, artists, release dates, and labels — is provided by the Spotify Web API.
Do I need a Spotify account to use the music features?
No. Spotify provides the data that powers album search and pages, but you don't need to connect or own a Spotify account. Loggsit only uses Spotify's API to look up album information.
Can I log individual tracks?
Yes. On any album page you can browse the full tracklist and leave a per-track review. These are stored under your diary entry for that album.
Why is an album not showing up in search?
Search uses Spotify's catalog, which is very large but may not include every release — particularly very independent, regional, or unreleased albums. If Spotify doesn't have it, Loggsit won't either.
Importing from Letterboxd
Can I import my Letterboxd diary?
Yes. Go to Settings → Import and upload your Letterboxd diary.csv file. You can also upload your reviews.csv at the same time to include your written reviews.
How do I export my Letterboxd data?
Log in to Letterboxd, go to letterboxd.com/settings/data, and click Export your data. You'll receive a ZIP file containing your diary.csv and reviews.csv.
What data is imported?
Each Letterboxd diary row imports as a Loggsit diary entry with:
- Film title and year
- Your star rating (converted from Letterboxd's 0.5–5 scale)
- Watch date
- Whether it was a rewatch
- Your written review and spoiler flag (if reviews.csv is uploaded)
Will importing create duplicate entries?
No. The importer checks for an existing entry with the same film and watch date before creating one. If a match is found, that row is skipped. Running the same import twice is safe.
What if a film can't be found?
Each film is looked up by title and year via OMDb. If a match can't be found (very obscure films, unusual titles, or API mismatches), that entry is skipped and counted in the "skipped" total shown after the import finishes.
